The register lists 20 versions with an engine displacement from 2,199 to 2,200 cm³, four- to six-cylinder engines, kerb weights from 1,020 to 1,360 kg, gross vehicle weights from 1,170 to 1,983 kg and widths from 1,540 to 1,760 mm; length is recorded at around 3,510 mm.

As the Dutch licensed version of the American military jeep, the Nekaf served in the armed forces and, under NATO standardisation, was also supplied to allied armies; after military service, many vehicles passed into civilian surplus use in agriculture and off-road work. As the Dutch contribution to the shared post-war jeep production, the Nekaf is a fixed part of Dutch military vehicle history.

Buying used, what matters is corrosion of the chassis and tub, the condition of the transfer case and axles, and the electrical system, wired to 6 or 12 volts depending on the model year. The condition of the open body's panels and the completeness of the military fittings strongly affect value; spare parts come through the trade in jeep and military vehicle accessories.
