McCormick-Deering F series – early standard tractors from International Harvester: DF 25, FG, FG D-2 and FS with two- to four-cylinder engines, 15 to 18 kW and diesel or petrol/kerosene power
The McCormick-Deering F series denotes early standard tractors under the McCormick-Deering brand, under which International Harvester sold its agricultural machinery in the first half of the 20th century. International Harvester was formed in 1902 from the merger of the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company with the Deering Harvester Company and other farm equipment makers; the double name remained in use as a tractor and harvester brand for decades. The four models DF 25 (A/T), FG, FG D-2 and FS differ in engine and fuel type: two of the four versions run on diesel, two on kerosene or petrol, reflecting the era's common practice of offering the same tractor type with different engine variants.

As standard tractors with a rigid frame and equal track width, the F series targeted farms that primarily needed draft power for tillage and belt work, unlike the narrower row-crop tractors of the same era. The choice between a diesel and a kerosene/petrol engine let farms match the tractor to locally available fuel.
On these historic tractors, the condition of the cylinder head and cooling system, the tightness of the fuel system depending on engine variant, wear on steering and clutch, and the condition of sheet metal and paintwork all matter. Spare parts for this vintage today come mainly from specialist vintage-tractor parts dealers and reproduction parts.
