This page gathers the articulated dump trucks of Link-Belt, the US construction equipment maker headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, which has belonged to the Japanese Sumitomo group since the 1980s. Alongside its better-known excavators and cranes, Link-Belt also offered a line of dump trucks, whose designations D16, D25, D30 and D300 as well as E30 indicate the payload class in tonnes. The vehicles are powered throughout by six-cylinder Cummins diesel engines, from the smaller B range through the C range up to the M11-C270.

The register lists here 5 versions with 102 to 213 kW from six-cylinder engines of 5,883 to 10,832 cm³, lengths from 7,148 to 9,760 mm, widths from 2,502 to 2,862 mm, heights from 3,260 to 3,520 mm, torque from 613 to 1,376 Nm and rated speeds of 2,000 to 2,100 rpm.

Articulated dump trucks haul loose material over unpaved ground in earthworks and mining, where oscillating axles and articulated steering give better cross-country mobility than rigid dump trucks. With this range Link-Belt positioned itself, alongside its core business of excavators and cranes, as a full-line supplier for the North American earthmoving market.

When buying used, the articulation joint and its bearings, the body for wear and cracks, and the all-wheel drive and differential locks, heavily stressed under full load off-road, deserve attention. The engine and cooling system of the Cummins units should be checked for documented servicing, as should the brakes and hydraulic cylinders for tipping and steering. Spare parts for the drivetrain run through Cummins service, for chassis and body through Link-Belt or Sumitomo dealers.
