John Deere built the 8030 Series from 2006 to 2009 at its Waterloo, Iowa plant as standard tractors bridging the earlier 8020 Series and the following 8R Series. The four models – 8130, 8230, 8330 and 8430 – are arranged in ascending power class. The series' six-cylinder carries the John Deere PowerTech 6090HRW designation, displacing 8,984 cc at 2,100 rpm rated speed. The series ran on wheels only, complementing the articulated and tracked large tractors in the John Deere line-up.

The register lists here 4 versions with 158.2 to 217.1 kW (240 to 295 hp) rated output. Unladen weights range from 9,670 to 11,260 kg, and maximum torque reaches 1,003 Nm. Length, width and height are identical across all four models at 5,938 mm, 3,012 mm and 3,155 mm.
The 8030 Series occupied the large standard-tractor segment, where John Deere competed against the Case IH Magnum, the Fendt 900 Vario and the New Holland T8000. The big-displacement six-cylinder and high drawbar pull made it the choice for tillage and heavy draft work on arable farms. In Europe the series also faced domestic large tractors such as the Claas Xerion and the Deutz-Fahr Agrotron.
When buying used, check the hours and service history of the PowerTech six-cylinder, the condition of clutch and transmission, the tightness of hydraulics and PTO, and the axles and tyres after years of field work. Parts and service run through the John Deere dealer network. as well as the function of brakes, lighting and cab electronics.
