Chassis of this weight class are popular with body builders because, at just under 3.5 t gross weight, they can be driven in many countries on a standard car licence while still offering enough payload for special bodies such as mobile workshops, refrigerated boxes or stage vehicles. The long wheelbase of some versions allows correspondingly long bodies of up to just under 7.8 m overall length.

When buying such conversions, the key points are the proper attachment of the body to the frame, corrosion at the weld points, the condition of the clutch and gearbox on the Iveco Daily chassis, and the brakes and suspension under the additional body load. Spare parts for the engine and chassis are supplied by the Iveco network; for the body itself, usually only the converter remains a source.
