International Harvester Farmall 350 to W-450 (1950s) – the multi-fuel field tractors from Rock Island: petrol, LPG or diesel by choice, four-cylinder, 29 to 43 kW, 2.08 to 2.8 t
International Harvester built one of the most defining American tractor families at its Farmall Works plant in Rock Island, Illinois, with the Farmall range; the 350 and 450 models of the 1950s were offered as the classic narrow-front Farmall, as the 350 Utility with a conventional front axle, or as the W-450 standard tractor. A distinctive feature of this range was the free choice of fuel: the same four-cylinder engines were offered for petrol, LPG or diesel, letting farmers choose according to local fuel availability and price.

The register lists 5 versions with engines of 2,875 to 5,734 cm³, outputs of 28.7 to 43.2 kW and rated speeds of 1,450 to 2,000 rpm. Service weights range from 2,084 to 2,799 kg, lengths from 3,023 to 3,632 mm, widths from 1,626 to 2,134 mm.
The 50 series competed directly with John Deere and Massey-Harris in the North American mid-size segment of the 1950s; the classic Farmall's narrow-front design was optimised for row-crop corn work, while the 350 Utility and W-450, as standard tractors with a fixed front axle, took on broader tasks.
On used tractors, operating hours, the condition of carburettor or injection pump depending on the fuel variant, the LPG system and its tightness on the liquid-gas models, clutch and gearbox, and rust on sheet-metal parts count; parts supply runs through Case IH as legal successor to International Harvester.
