General Motors built the Chevrolet C/K as a long-running pickup truck series with a front-mounted engine and rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. It was produced in the United States from 1960 to 2000, in Canada until 2000, in Brazil until 2001, and in Argentina across two production periods until 1994; the series succeeded the Task Force and was itself succeeded by the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.

The register lists body styles for the C/K ranging from a two-door regular cab through a three-door extended cab to a four-door crew cab. Listed engines include inline sixes and V8s from 305 cubic inches (5.0 litres) through 350 cubic inches (5.7 litres) up to 454 cubic inches (7.4 litres) and 496 cubic inches (8.1 litres), plus a 262 cubic inch (4.3 litre) V6; other six-cylinder engines were used in some markets. Versions were offered rated for half-ton, three-quarter-ton and one-ton payloads.

As a full-size pickup in the heavier weight bracket, the C/K's payload ratings from half a ton to a full ton covered a wide field of use, from everyday driving to working duty towing trailers and on construction sites. The choice between rear-wheel and four-wheel drive extended its use onto unpaved ground.

Buying a used C/K means checking the torque converter and seals on the commonly fitted automatic gearboxes such as the 700R4 or the 4L60/4L80 range, plus corrosion on the frame, load bed and wheel arches after decades of use. On four-wheel-drive versions, check the transfer case and hubs; on V8 engines, check the condition of the carburettor or early fuel injection depending on model year.
