This page gathers Foden trucks the register could not assign to a named range: the S series with models such as the S21, S39, S104T1 and S106T, the 8x6 four-axle CC8-10/30, three-axle tractor units, and the 3000 Alpha and 4400. Foden was founded in 1856 in Sandbach, Cheshire, initially as a maker of steam engines and steam wagons, and from the 1930s of diesel trucks. The shift from steam to diesel technology came with the use of Gardner engines, known for their fuel economy and durability. In 1980 the American maker PACCAR took over the brand; vehicle production in Sandbach ended in 2006.

The heavy class of multi-axle tractor units and construction vehicles shows Foden's focus on British heavy haulage, where the brand, alongside names such as ERF and Atkinson, counted among the long-established marques before yielding, under PACCAR, to DAF and Leyland. Fodens were also exported to Commonwealth countries, where their robust chassis proved themselves in mining and construction haulage.
Buying used, these historic chassis need checking for rust on the frame and axle mounts, the condition of the braking system and clutch, and the availability of engine and gearbox parts, which after the end of production are mostly found through specialist restoration workshops and vintage parts dealers.
