Deutz Allis DX 7.10: air-cooled six-cylinder standard tractor with a Deutz engine, 6,128 cm³ displacement, 160 hp (117.1 kW) and 5,443 kg weight
Deutz Allis was the joint brand of Deutz and Allis-Chalmers for the North American tractor market of the 1980s. The DX 7.10 sits at the top of the DX range and carries a six-cylinder diesel engine built by Deutz in Cologne.

The six-cylinder diesel engine with 6,128 cm³ displacement is air-cooled and produces 160 hp, or 117.1 kW, at 2,400 rpm, with torque of 563 Nm. At 5,443 kg weight, 4,770 mm length, 2,370 mm width and 2,730 mm height, the DX 7.10 ranks among the heaviest and most powerful Deutz Allis tractors.
With a top speed of 30 km/h, the DX 7.10 falls into driving licence category L (up to 40 km/h). The 160 hp and 563 Nm of torque from the air-cooled six-cylinder engine suffice for heavy tillage with wide implements and for pulling large trailers, as used on the wide arable fields of North America.
When buying a DX 7.10, check the condition of the cooling-air ducting on the large six-cylinder engine, whose fan and baffle plates must be intact. Also check the clutch, gearbox and axle drives under high drawbar load, and the spare-parts situation, which is more limited for this earlier Deutz Allis range than for current Deutz-Fahr models. The condition of the intake and exhaust manifolds is also worth checking, since a clogged intake screen reduces cooling airflow and shortens the life of the large six-cylinder engine under sustained heavy pulling.
