AGCO-Allis (1990–2001) – the brand with which AGCO began: 5.65 to 6.220, the first digit as series, the number after the dot as hp, Deutz engines, Frutero and Parralero for South America, 43 to 158 kW
AGCO-Allis is the brand from which the AGCO group emerged: in 1990 managers bought the North American tractor division of Deutz-Allis – the successor to Allis-Chalmers, which Deutz had taken over in 1985 – and founded the Allis-Gleaner Corporation, AGCO, which in the following years acquired Massey Ferguson, Fendt and Valtra. Until 2001 AGCO sold tractors under the AGCO-Allis name in orange, then the brand merged into AGCO and Challenger. The type logic: the first digit gives the series – 5 for the small, 6 for the medium and large tractors – the number after the dot the output in hp: 5.65 about 65 hp, 6.125 about 125 hp, 6.220 about 220 hp. The suffixes Frutero, Parralero, F and V come from South American production, where AGCO-Allis built orchard, vineyard and specialty tractors in Argentina and Brazil; A marks four-wheel drive. The engines came from Deutz – the air-cooled 913 series – as a legacy of the Deutz-Allis years and, in the late models, from AGCO itself.

The register lists 11 versions with 43 to 158 kW (57 to 212 hp) from three- to six-cylinders – Deutz F4L 913, F6L 913 and BF4L 913, AGCO engines in two models – at 2,300 rpm, all diesel.
AGCO-Allis was the bridge between the Allis-Chalmers tradition and today's group; the air-cooled Deutz engines made the tractors popular in Argentina, where the brand is still present on the used market under the AGCO-Allis name.
On used tractors, engine condition (air-cooled cylinders and blower), gearbox, hydraulics and front axle on four-wheel-drive models and parts supply, which runs through AGCO and Deutz, are what count.
