As row-crop tractors, the 2-series models have a rear axle with adjustable track width, letting the wheel spacing be matched to different row spacings for maize; a feature the heavier, articulated 4-series models with their equal-sized axles neither have nor need, since they are built more for heavy drawbar work than for row-crop farming. When buying used, it is worth checking the track-width adjuster on the axle stub shafts, since after many years of standing outdoors it often seizes solid with dirt and surface rust.
