Since 2000 the N range has been Valtra's four-cylinder mid-range, the Finnish maker from Suolahti that emerged in 1997 from the sale of Valmet to Sisu and has belonged to AGCO since 2004. The type logic orders the letters A, N, T and S by cylinder count and size – A the compact class, N the four-cylinders, T the six-cylinders, S the big tractors – the following number roughly gives the power class in hp, so N174 stands for about 175 hp and N93 for about 95 hp. The engines come from the company's own Linnavuori plant, which traded under the Sisu name before it merged into AGCO Power in 2004; the suffixes HiTech, Active, Versu and Direct mark transmission and equipment steps.
