Like the 55 series, the 65 series was built at the Suolahti plant for the Finnish and Scandinavian market; it covered a somewhat higher power class and came at the transition from the Valmet brand to the later renaming as Valtra. It thus closed the gap in the Valmet programme between the 55 series and the bigger ranges of the following years, sharing the same design philosophy and plant.
On the 65 series, what counts is the condition and compression of the Sisu-Valmet diesel, the condition of the four-wheel-drive clutch on the -4 models, the tightness of the hydraulics and lift, and rust on the cab and mudguards; parts today run through the successor network of Valtra.
