The C-325 / C-328 / C-330 series from Ursus includes the C-330. Production: 1967-1987. The engine delivers 30 hp (22.4 kW), has 2 cylinders, with a displacement of 1,960 cm³. Torque is 100 Nm. Rated speed is 2,200 rpm. The machine is 3,080 mm long, 1,590 mm wide and 2,180 mm high. The unladen weight is 1,700 kg. The wheelbase measures 1,870 mm. Ground clearance is 400 mm. Top speed is 23.5 km/h. The tank holds 35 litres. Transmission: 6+2. The engine is water-cooled. Tyres: front 6.00-16 ASF, rear 12.4-28 AS. The fuel is diesel. The bore measures 102 mm. The stroke is 120 mm. The compression ratio is 17:1. Maximum torque is reached at 1,800 rpm. Construction: unit construction (no separate frame). The gearbox offers 6 forward gears. There are also 2 reverse gears. The linkage is category II. The C-325 / C-328 / C-330 series covers 3 models and was built 1959-1987. Rated output within it ranges from 25 to 30 hp; the C-330 sits at the top of that range with 30 hp. Its immediate neighbours are the C-328 below it with 28 hp. Unladen weight within it ranges from 1,460 to 1,700 kg; here the C-330 sits at the top of that range with 1,700 kg. 221 Ursus models across 12 series are on record.

Ursus C-325, C-328, C-330 – small two-cylinder diesels from the Warsaw plant: 18.4 to 22.4 kW, 1,810 to 1,960 cm³ displacement, 1,460 to 1,700 kg unladen weight

Ursus is the long-established Polish tractor maker with its main plant in the Warsaw district of the same name, building agricultural machinery since the 1920s. From the 1960s the C series supplied small, robust two-cylinder diesels for smaller and medium-sized farms in Poland and neighbouring countries; the three-digit number orders the models within the range by power step. This page gathers the closely related types C-325, C-328 and C-330. Until the political transition of 1989, Ursus belonged to Poland's state-owned agricultural machinery combines and supplied other Eastern Bloc states besides the domestic market.

The register lists 3 versions with 18.4 to 22.4 kW (25 to 30.5 hp) from two-cylinder diesel engines of 1,810 to 1,960 cm³ displacement, torque of 93 to 100 Nm at 2,000 to 2,200 rpm. Unladen weights range from 1,460 to 1,700 kg, lengths from 3,030 to 3,080 mm, widths from 1,590 to 1,680 mm.

In Polish farming, with its many small and medium-sized plots, these Ursus types were standard equipment for decades, robust, easy to repair and widespread well into the years after the transition; similar two-cylinder Ursus types were also exported to other Eastern Bloc countries. The simple, low-maintenance technology allowed repairs even far from authorised workshops, which explains their long service life on Polish farms.

When buying used, what counts is the condition of the injection pump and piston rings of the two-cylinder engine, clutch and brakes, the tightness of the hydraulics, and corrosion on wings and bonnet; parts for this simple mechanism are usually still available through Polish farm machinery dealers.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
