The S range – S standing at Schlüter for Super – was the mid-size and large programme of the Munich, and later Freising, engine and tractor maker founded in 1899, positioned between the small AS range and the later large Trac tractors. The span runs from the small single-cylinder model 25 to the large six-cylinder S 900, showing the path Schlüter took from the 1950s into the 1970s towards ever higher power classes.

The S range accompanied Schlüter's rise from a small Bavarian tractor maker to a supplier of high-power standard tractors, with which the company later competed against Fendt, Deutz and the international large-tractor makers on the way to its own later Trac generation, before the Euro Trac succeeded the range.
On used tractors, both the older small models and the large S 900 versions, engine and injection pump, clutch and gearbox, hydraulics and linkage, brakes and sheet metal and frame for rust count; since Schlüter ended tractor production in 1993, parts now run only through specialists.
