Saviem (Société Anonyme de Véhicules Industriels et d'Équipements Mécaniques) was formed in 1955 from the merger of the commercial-vehicle divisions of Renault, Somua and Latil, and was one of the major French truck makers until the brand was discontinued in 1978, when it became part of Renault Véhicules Industriels. The SG range of the 1970s and 1980s – represented here by models such as the SG 4 and SG 5 – was among the brand's best-known heavy cab-over trucks.
