The Paccar MX-13 is an inline six-cylinder turbodiesel of 12.9 litres. It descends from the European DAF-developed MX-11, which originally powered the DAF CF and XF ranges; in 2010 Paccar introduced its own MX-13 variant for the North American market. The MX family also includes the smaller, 10.8-litre MX-11.

To meet the strict North American NOx limits, the family combines turbocharging with charge-air cooling and an aftertreatment system of EGR, particulate filter and SCR catalyst with AdBlue dosing.
