MAN built diesel tractors in Nuremberg from 1921 to 1962 and is counted among the pioneers of four-wheel drive in the tractor business; the A range is, alongside the R range, one of two programmes of the Nuremberg works before the tractor division was sold to Fendt in 1962. The type logic runs from the small A 25 A to the large A 50, with the A 32 H/A as row-crop version – H in German tractor nomenclature marks the narrow-track, higher-clearance variant for row-crop farming.
