The R-365 (DT) from Lamborghini is part of the Dritte R series. Production: 1971–1973. The engine delivers 62 hp (45.6 kW), has 3 cylinders, with a displacement of 3,739 cm³. Rated speed is 2,000 rpm. The machine is 3,620 mm long, 1,680 mm wide and 1,530 mm high. The unladen weight is 2,537 kg. The wheelbase measures 2,095 mm. Top speed is 25 km/h. The tank holds 65 litres. Transmission: 12 V/3 R. The engine is air-cooled. Tyres: front 6.50-16 ASF (DT: 9.5-24 AS), rear 14.9-28 AS. The fuel is diesel. The bore measures 115 mm. The stroke is 120 mm. The compression ratio is 17:1. Construction: unit construction (no separate frame). The gearbox offers 12 forward gears. There are also 3 reverse gears. Injection pressure is 180 bar. The linkage is category II. The PTO runs at 540/1000 rpm. Around 77 (DT: 100) units were built. The Dritte R-Baureihe series covers 3 models. Rated output within it ranges from 62 to 83 hp; the R-365 (DT) sits at the bottom of that range with 62 hp. Its immediate neighbours are the R-475 (DT) above it with 74 hp. Unladen weight within it ranges from 2,537 to 3,025 kg; here the R-365 (DT) sits at the bottom of that range with 2,537 kg. 136 Lamborghini models across 28 series are on record.

Lamborghini third R range – three- and four-cylinder four-wheel-drive tractors from Pieve di Cento: the R-365, R-475 and R-485 (DT), 45.6 to 61 kW, 2.5 to 3 t unladen weight

The third R range from Lamborghini Trattori of Pieve di Cento continued the R model family with the R-365, R-475 and R-485 types, each in DT form with the brand's typical standard four-wheel drive, Doppia Trazione. The range combined three- and four-cylinder diesels in a mid power segment and was aimed at farms needing sure pulling power even on tougher ground, from hillside grassland to heavier arable soils.

The register lists here 3 versions with 45.6 to 61 kW output at a uniform 2,000 rpm, from three- to four-cylinder diesels of 3,739 to 4,986 cm³. Unladen weights range from 2,537 to 3,025 kg, lengths from 3,620 to 3,790 mm, widths from 1,680 to 1,750 mm and heights from 1,530 to 1,600 mm; all three models run on diesel.

With standard four-wheel drive, the third R range sat in the mid power segment against similarly equipped models from group sister SAME as well as Fiat, Deutz-Fahr and Renault; the four-wheel drive made the tractors particularly suited to slopes and heavier soils.

On a used purchase of these four-wheel-drive tractors, the condition of the front axle with its transfer gearbox and drive shafts counts, the clutch and gearbox, the tightness of injection pump and cooling system, and rust on mudguards, bonnet and cab; parts run through the SAME Deutz-Fahr network.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
