The Iveco 80E 21-P/419 is a model in the 80E series. Production: 2001. The engine delivers 154 kW, with a displacement of 5,880 cm³. The vehicle is 7,400 mm long and 2,210 mm wide. The unladen weight is 5,200 kg. The gross vehicle weight is 8,000 kg. The 80E series covers 9 models. Rated output within it ranges from 105 to 154 kW; the 80E 21-P/419 sits at the top of that range with 154 kW. Its immediate neighbours are the 80E 21-FP-8.6T below it with 152 kW. Unladen weight within it ranges from 4,790 to 6,450 kg; here the 80E 21-P/419 sits in the lower part of that range with 5,200 kg. 3135 Iveco models across 106 series are on record.

Iveco 80E – EuroCargo chassis of the 8-tonne class: 105 to 154 kW, four- to six-cylinders from 3,920 to 6,728 cm³, gross vehicle weights from 7,490 to 11,990 kg, lengths up to 8,990 mm

Iveco introduced the EuroCargo range in 1991 for medium-duty distribution work between 6 and 18 tonnes as successor to the older Zeta range. Within this family the number before the E gives the nominal gross vehicle weight in hundreds of kilograms, so the 80E stands for the 8-tonne class. The versions carried in the register partly state the gross weight directly in the name (80E 21-8.6T for about 8.6 tonnes, 80E 15-7.49T for about 7.49 tonnes), plus chassis with different wheelbases and the T18 version and the plain chassis version 80E/P.

The register lists here 9 versions, 6 of them with recorded power of 105 to 154 kW, with displacements from 3,920 to 6,728 cm³ from four- to six-cylinders, unladen weights from 4,009 to 6,450 kg at gross vehicle weights from 7,490 to 11,990 kg, lengths from 5,230 to 8,990 mm and widths from 2,200 to 2,560 mm.

In this class the EuroCargo competes with the Mercedes-Benz Atego, the MAN TGL/TGM, the DAF LF and the Renault D/Midlum, and is common as a box body, tipper, dropside or municipal vehicle in medium-duty distribution and construction-site work.

On a used example, the PTO and auxiliary drives on relevant bodies count, along with the condition of the turbocharger and injection system, the braking system on the heavier variants, and particulate-filter regeneration cycles under typical urban duty; parts are supplied through the Iveco commercial-vehicle network.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
