Iveco introduced the EuroCargo range in 1991 for medium-duty distribution work between 6 and 18 tonnes as successor to the older Zeta range. Within this family the number before the E gives the nominal gross vehicle weight in hundreds of kilograms, so the 80E stands for the 8-tonne class. The versions carried in the register partly state the gross weight directly in the name (80E 21-8.6T for about 8.6 tonnes, 80E 15-7.49T for about 7.49 tonnes), plus chassis with different wheelbases and the T18 version and the plain chassis version 80E/P.
