Hatz, the Motorenfabrik Hatz headquartered in Ruhstorf an der Rott in Lower Bavaria, is known chiefly as a maker of air-cooled diesel engines for construction machinery, compressors and agricultural equipment, and in the 1950s and 1960s also built small tractors of the T range under its own name, powered by its own Hatz diesel engines. The type designations T-13 to T-32 follow the approximate power class of the respective engine in horsepower.
