The EV Star is the base version of GreenPower's electric minibus EV Star. GreenPower was incorporated in Canada in 2010, is headquartered in Vancouver and builds electric buses; Wikipedia describes the EV Star as a minibus line that launched in 2018, with 150 to 200 miles of range per charge and seating for up to seventeen passengers. The register dates this version to 2017–2025.
The register gives battery-electric drive as the drive. The vehicle subclass is: light heavy-duty vehicle with compression ignition (Light HDV), Multipurpose duty cycle. A US CO2 limit of 373 g/tkm is set for this subclass. Such limits apply per vehicle subclass and relate to payload and distance; they show the regulatory classification rather than the actual consumption of an individual vehicle. With an electric drive the vehicle produces no exhaust; range and charging time depend on the battery capacity and charging power of the version.
Since all EV Star entries share the same electric drive, the differences lie less in the drive than in the body, such as passenger or cargo space, and in the weight limits underlying each approval.
