The 900 Vario Gen6 series from Fendt includes the 933 Vario Gen6. Production: 2019–2026. The engine delivers 326 hp (220 kW), has 6 cylinders. Torque is 1,310 Nm. Rated speed is 2,200 rpm. The machine is 5,655 mm long, 2,750 mm wide and 3,322 mm high. The unladen weight is 11,300 kg. The wheelbase measures 3,050 mm. Ground clearance is 570 mm. Top speed is 50 km/h. Lifting capacity is 12,410 kg. Transmission: Vario TA300. The engine is water-cooled. Tyres: front 600/65 R 34, rear 710/70 R 42. The fuel is Diesel/RME. The bore measures 108 mm. The stroke is 130 mm. Maximum torque is reached at 1,450 rpm. Construction: unit construction (no separate frame). Injection pressure is 1600 bar. The linkage is category III. The PTO runs at 540E/1000 rpm. The 900 Vario Gen6 series covers 5 models and was built 2019–2026. Rated output within it ranges from 296 to 415 hp; the 933 Vario sits in the lower part of that range with 326 hp. Its immediate neighbours are the 930 Vario below it with 296 hp and the 936 Vario above it with 355 hp. Unladen weight within it ranges from 11,300 to 11,780 kg; here the 933 Vario sits at the bottom of that range with 11,300 kg. 1545 Fendt models across 89 series are on record.

Fendt 900 Vario Gen6 930 to 942 – Fendt's largest range with a MAN engine: a 9.04-litre six-cylinder, stepless Vario transmission, 220 to 305 kW, 11.3 to 11.78 t

The 900 Vario is Fendt's largest standard-tractor range, built in Marktoberdorf for professional arable farming with high pulling-power demands. Unlike Fendt's smaller ranges, which mostly run Deutz or AGCO's own Power engines, the sixth generation of the 900 series relies on a MAN six-cylinder of 9,037 cm³, supplying the litre output needed for the flagship 936, 939 and 942 Vario models; the number in the model designation orders the power class in ascending order. The stepless Vario transmission transmits power without gear steps even in Fendt's largest models, one model also approved for pure rapeseed oil fuel (RME).

The register lists 5 versions with power recorded from 220 to 305 kW from six-cylinders of 9,037 cm³, torque from 1,218 to 1,310 Nm at 2,200 rpm and operating weights from 11,300 to 11,780 kg at a linkage lift capacity of 12,410 kg; lengths range from 5,655 to 5,890 mm.

The 900 Vario is the top of Fendt's line-up for large arable farms and contractors with heavy implements and high pulling-power demands, where it competes with the Case IH Magnum and the John Deere 8R.

On used tractors, the condition of the Vario transmission, leak-free hydraulics given the many control units, rust on cab and bonnet, the condition of front-axle suspension and tyres and parts supply for the MAN engine, run through the Fendt network, are what count.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
