NiDAR CUAS from MARSS (Monaco) is a turnkey, sensor-agnostic counter-drone system. It brings several sensors, among them radar, EO/IR and radio detection, together in an AI-supported command system and, depending on the build, controls kinetic and non-kinetic effectors. It can be used fixed or on vehicles; the manufacturer names the military and critical infrastructure as fields of use.

The detection range of 25 km is a system claim from the brochure and depends on the connected sensors; the effect applies to targets up to 6 km. Coverage is 360 degrees. Sensor-agnostic means that radars, cameras and radio detectors from different manufacturers can be integrated; performance then depends on the chosen sensors. The brochure gives the 25 km for finding and defeating together; as effect range the manufacturer lists 6 km.

The effectors depend on the build; jammers are intended only for authorities and the military. Jammers may be operated only by authorities and armed forces in Germany (§ 91 TKG) and in Poland (Art. 42 of the Electronic Communications Law, Dz.U. 2024 item 1221). Who may act actively against drones is narrowly fixed by law: in Poland Art. 156ze of the Aviation Law (Dz.U. 2025 item 179), in Germany hazard prevention lies with the police, with the armed forces under § 15a LuftSiG as administrative assistance. Operators of critical infrastructure, airports and event organisers can limit themselves to detection; radio detection touches the secrecy of telecommunications (Fernmeldegeheimnis), and its legal classification is considered open.

In a sensor-agnostic system, the interfaces and software versions of the integrated sensors, time synchronisation between them and upkeep of the classification in the command system count. Depending on the build, servicing of the effectors comes on top; power supply, operating temperature and mast set-up depend on the chosen components.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
