The INTERCEPTOR-MR from MARSS (Monaco) is an AI-supported autonomous interceptor with electric ducted-fan propulsion. It launches vertically from a launch container and is designed as a military system for drones of NATO classes I and II. The manufacturer names the military and critical infrastructure as fields of use.

The effect range is 5 km and more, the pursuit speed is above 80 m/s, that is above 288 km/h, and the operating altitude reaches 2 km. The mode of action is ramming or manoeuvring, for which the airframe is built as a reinforced composite structure. AI image processing supports target tracking. The launch container stands in a fixed place, and the design serves protection of a site.

As an interceptor with kinetic effect the INTERCEPTOR-MR belongs to the state sphere. Destroying, disabling or taking over a drone is reserved to designated state bodies in Poland under Art. 156ze of the Aviation Law (Dz.U. 2025 item 179); in Germany hazard prevention rests with the federal and state police, and § 15a LuftSiG governs support by the armed forces through administrative assistance. Who may operate jammers is set by § 91 TKG in Germany and Art. 42 of the Electronic Communications Law (Dz.U. 2024 item 1221) in Poland: authorities only. For private operators of critical infrastructure, only detection functions generally come into consideration in Germany and Poland.

For ramming interceptors, stock, shelf life of the energy storage, tightness and weather resistance of the launch containers, and checks of the drive, ducted fan and image processing count. The composite airframe should be inspected for damage after transport and storage, and the software kept current.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
