The ISDT K4 (Duo) is a two-channel smart charger with mains and DC input for small FPV drones. ISDT is a Chinese maker of compact smart chargers of the K, P and Q series and of chargers for DJI batteries. With its cell range the K4 also covers larger packs than are usual for small FPV drones.
The maximum power of 1,200 W corresponds to 2 × 600 W on DC input; on mains it is only 400 W. The charge current is at most 20 A per channel. The unit charges 1S to 8S, for LiHV 1S to 7S, and supports LiFe, LiIon, LiPo, LiHV, ULiHV, lead-acid and NiMH and NiCd. The input covers AC 100 to 240 V and DC 10 to 34 V. The unit weighs about 1,230 g and measures 176 × 183 × 57 mm.
The usual rules apply for safe operation: charge lithium batteries only according to the manufacturer's instructions, under supervision and on a non-flammable surface, ideally in a charging bag; do not charge damaged or swollen packs. The choice of battery type is especially important: LiPo, LiHV and ULiHV differ in end-of-charge voltage, and a mode set too high overcharges a pack designed for only 4.2 V per cell.
When choosing, the difference between mains and DC matters: the full 2 × 600 W is available only on DC, on mains it is 400 W. 100 Wh of pack energy charges on DC at 600 W per channel in 10 minutes by calculation, and on mains at 400 W in 15 minutes, each without balancing time. At 1,230 g and 176 × 183 × 57 mm the unit travels in a case or backpack; keep the ventilation openings clear.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
