HENSOLDT ELYSION Fahrzeugsystem (Bundespolizei)

The ELYSION vehicle systems from HENSOLDT (Germany) are vehicle-based counter-drone units ordered by the German Federal Police. HENSOLDT acts as general contractor and integrates sensors, effectors and the ELYSION Mission Core software in the vehicle. The police are given as the field of use.

The design is a sensor and effector network in a vehicle. That makes the system mobile: it is meant for changing sites and not for protecting a single fixed object. In government configurations such as this one, the sensor and effector fit is put together per order.

The approval note: jammers in the EU only for authorised authorities and armed forces, no sale to private parties. Jammers may be operated only by authorities and armed forces in Germany (§ 91 TKG) and in Poland (Art. 42 of the Electronic Communications Law, Dz.U. 2024 item 1221). Active intervention in a drone's flight, that is destroying, disabling or taking over, is permitted to designated state bodies in Poland under Art. 156ze of the Aviation Law (Dz.U. 2025 item 179). In Germany hazard prevention is in principle a matter for the federal and state police; the armed forces support under § 15a LuftSiG through administrative assistance. Operators of critical infrastructure, airports and event organisers can limit themselves to detection; radio detection touches the secrecy of telecommunications (Fernmeldegeheimnis), and its legal classification is considered open.

For vehicle-integrated systems, power supply from the on-board network or a generator, an antenna layout in which sensors and effectors do not interfere with each other, vibration and temperature resistance, and servicing of the base vehicle besides the body count. The software versions of sensors, effectors and Mission Core must stay matched; operator training is part of operation.
