The Hacker Motor A60-16 M V4 215KV is a large outrunner for fixed-wing models. Hacker Motor is a German maker of electric drives for model flying; the motor belongs to the class of large electric aircraft that also fly as unmanned fixed-wing aircraft. It has a 59 mm diameter, a 75.2 mm length, an 8 mm shaft and weighs 760 g. This type is leaving the range.
At 215 KV the motor suits large, slowly turning propellers: the maker recommends Xoar 19x10 and 20x10. On 10S (37 V nominal) that gives a no-load speed of roughly 8,000 rpm; the series is approved for 6 to 12S, so the cell count can be chosen within a wide range and sets the load together with the propeller. The motor delivers up to 2,200 W for no more than 15 s, about 2.9 W per gram of motor mass. That is a short-term value for take-off and climb, not a continuous value for cruising.
Three things matter for the design: the 15 s time basis applies only to the peak value, and power draw in cruise is far below it; the maker recommends speed controllers (ESC) of 90 to 120 A, which provides headroom; and motor, controller and battery must carry the same cell count. As an unmanned aircraft the model falls under the EU rules: up to 25 kg take-off mass it stays in the open category, and the class depends on the total weight, not on the motor.
In large fixed-wing drives, bearings and winding wear. The bearings carry the propeller thrust in the axial direction, and in hard landings the shaft is the first to bend; a wobble at the spinner gives it away. The winding ages under heat, especially when the motor runs on the ground without airflow. Because the type is leaving the range, a replacement should be chosen with the same hole pattern and shaft size.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
