The Foxeer F722 V4 (China) is an FPV flight controller in 30x30 format for Betaflight, with an ICM42688 gyro and a DPS310 barometer. It is meant for small multicopters in manual FPV flight, where low latency counts; the Betaflight target is called FOXEERF722V4 and the article number is MR1864.

The processor is an STM32F722RET6, an F7 class that is enough for many FPV uses but offers less reserve for elaborate filters than an H7. The ICM42688 gyro supplies rotation rates with low noise, and a barometer adds altitude data. Available connections are 6 UART for receiver, video transmitter, GPS and telemetry, plus an OSD that overlays flight data on the analogue video picture. The input voltage is 14 to 28 V (4S to 6S). The board measures 37 × 37 mm with a hole pattern of 30.5 × 30.5 mm and weighs 8 g.

Anyone flying with goggles needs an observer in the open category who keeps the aircraft in sight. The class of the finished drone follows from take-off mass; C0 is below 250 g.

When selecting, the target must match the board, and the voltage range rules out 3S and 8S. A gyro only helps with soft mounting and balanced propellers, otherwise motor noise reaches the filters. Wear shows at the USB socket and solder pads; before firmware updates the configuration is saved, after modifications the attitude is calibrated.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
