The DroneHunter F700 from Fortem Technologies (USA) is a radar-guided, autonomous interceptor drone. It carries an on-board radar and net launchers, catches a drone in a net and tows it away. The manufacturer names the military, critical infrastructure and stadiums as fields of use; the system is listed as portable or stationary.

The effect range is 1.5 km, and according to the manufacturer's data sheet a typical sortie lasts 1 to 3 minutes over about 0.5 to 1.5 km. The take-off weight of 18 kg includes battery, net launchers and radar, and the wingspan is 1,980 mm. The net launchers can be reloaded in under 3 minutes, which keeps the pause between two sorties short. The design is thus meant for short sorties at close range, not for patrol flights.

The net-capture interceptor is an active countermeasure and lies with state bodies. For destroying, disabling or taking over drones, Poland applies Art. 156ze of the Aviation Law (Dz.U. 2025 item 179), which reserves this to designated state bodies. In Germany the federal and state police are in principle responsible for hazard prevention, and § 15a LuftSiG governs help from the armed forces as administrative assistance. Operating jammers is reserved to authorities: in Germany under § 91 TKG, in Poland under Art. 42 of the Electronic Communications Law (Dz.U. 2024 item 1221). For private operators such as stadiums, only detection functions generally come into consideration in Germany and Poland.

For an interceptor, battery condition and cycle count, the net launcher unit with its reload time, propellers and motors, and the calibration of the on-board radar count. The batteries, in drones almost always lithium, fall under dangerous-goods rules and need suitable storage and charging places. After each sortie the airframe and the mounting of the net unit should be checked for damage.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
