Deutz-Allis emerged in 1985 when Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz bought the farm-equipment division of Allis-Chalmers and continued the orange tractors with its own technology – the 6200 series is the mid-range of that period: Deutz-Fahr tractors of the DX range from Cologne, painted orange and sold through the Allis-Chalmers dealer network in North America. The type logic: 6 marks the range, the following digits the power step – 6150 about 45 hp, 6240 about 55, 6250 about 60, 6260 about 65, 6265 and 6275 about 70 to 74 hp – in North America without Deutz's own DX nomenclature. The engines are Deutz's air-cooled three- and four-cylinders of the 912 and 913 series of 2.8 to 4.1 litres at 2,150 to 2,500 rpm – Deutz's hallmark, which was regarded as exotic in North America and divided customers.
