The Chevrolet C10 is the half-ton pickup from General Motors' C/K series, built across three generations from 1960 to 1987: the first through 1966, the second ("Action Line") through 1972, and the third, square-bodied generation through 1987. The type designation follows a fixed scheme: C stands for rear-wheel drive (K for four-wheel drive), and the number 10 for the half-ton payload class, with 20 (three-quarter ton) and 30 (one ton) above it. Body styles ranged from the Fleetside pickup with smooth cargo sides to the Stepside with exposed rear fenders and the enclosed Panel Van; the C10 was built in the United States, Canada, and in CKD assembly in Brazil and Mexico as well.

The third generation, the square body, is now a collector field in its own right with a large custom and restoration scene.
Buying used, check for rust on the frame, cab corners, door sills and cargo bed, the condition of the often-swapped six- and eight-cylinder engines (250/292 inline-six, 305/350/400/454 V8), the Turbo-Hydramatic automatic gearboxes, and the front drum or disc brakes. Parts supply for body, chassis and drivetrain components is very good given the huge production numbers and long build run.
