The water-cooled eight-cylinder diesel engine has a displacement of 10,850 cc and produces 170 hp, or 125 kW, at 2,200 rpm. At 6,640 mm long, 2,480 mm wide, 3,370 mm high, with a 2,860 mm wheelbase and 450 mm ground clearance, the HTZ-17321 is a large, heavy tractor for field work.

Eight cylinders and over 10 litres of displacement for 170 hp point to a long-stroke tractor engine built for high drawbar pull at comparatively low revs. The generous 450 mm ground clearance allows work in tall-growing crops or on uneven ground without the underside of the machine grounding out.

When buying a used tractor this large and heavy, the condition of the eight-cylinder injection pump, the tightness of all radiator hoses and the wear on the steering knuckles of the wide front axle deserve particular attention. Given the high overall weight, it is also worth assessing tyre condition and the braking system, as both are worked harder than average at this mass, along with the PTO bearings where implements are used intensively. The value of such a machine hinges heavily on how complete its original service records are.
