The Compact range was Valtra's entry class around the turn of the millennium – small tractors between 50 and 80 hp for part-time farms, municipalities and horse yards that the Finnish maker from Suolahti did not build itself but sourced as bought-in machines with air-cooled Deutz engines, as was usual for the class under 80 hp with many brands. The type logic: Compact marks the range, the number the power step – 3100 about 50 hp, 3300 about 60, 3400 about 70, 3500 about 78 hp – C the range identifier. The engines are Deutz three- and four-cylinders of the air-cooled 913 series (F3L 913 in the register) of up to 4.3 litres at 2,350 to 2,400 rpm, the transmissions synchromesh gearboxes with shuttle.

The register lists 7 versions with 38.8 to 56.7 kW from three- and four-cylinders, torque from 172 to 178 Nm on the recorded models, lift capacities from 2,475 to 2,485 kg, unladen weights from 2,560 to 2,800 kg, lengths from 3,760 to 3,890 mm and a height of 2,340 mm.
The Compact remained a sideline in the Valtra programme, which begins at 75 hp with the A, N and T ranges; the range was replaced in the 2000s by the A range, which Valtra builds partly itself and partly in Brazil.
On used tractors, operating hours, the condition of the air-cooled Deutz engine (cooling blower, cylinder fins), clutch and shuttle, four-wheel-drive clutch, hydraulics and front loader count; parts run through Deutz for the engine and Valtra for the machine.
