Valmet/Valtra HiTech range – five large 1990s tractors from Suolahti, 6250 to 6850 HiTech: 55.2 to 88.3 kW, four-cylinder diesels of 4,397 cm³, 4,399 to 4,770 kg
The HiTech range was built in the 1990s at the Finnish Suolahti plant, in the transitional period when Valmet and Valtra grew together into the joint Valtra brand. The five types from 6250 to 6850 HiTech carry the ascending power step in their designation, all sharing the same four-cylinder diesel of 4,397 cm³ but differing in turbocharging and engine tuning. The HiTech suffix marked the then-new generation with electronically controlled injection and an improved cab.

With the HiTech range the Finnish brand positioned itself in the upper mid-range against Fendt, Deutz-Fahr and Massey Ferguson, drawing on the reputation of Finnish tractors for cold-weather toughness and low maintenance. The range also marks the transition from the Valmet brand to today's Valtra.
Buying used, the HiTech models call for checking the electronic injection, the condition of the cab mounts and the tightness of the hydraulic valves; after thirty years of service the cooling system and clutch are common wear points. Parts are stocked through the Valtra dealer network, as the range technically belongs to today's model line.
