Valmet and Valtra stand for rugged, cold-resistant tractors from the far north; the brand is deeply rooted in Finland, Scandinavia and the Baltic states, and a second plant in Brazil also supplies South America. In the mid and upper power segment it competes with John Deere, Case IH and Massey Ferguson, and is regarded as a simple-to-maintain alternative with durable mechanics.

On used examples of these model years, look for rust on wings and cab floor from road salt, the condition of the hydraulic pump, PTO and clutch, hours on the Sisu engine and, on four-wheel-drive models, wear on the front axle and transfer case; parts run through the Valtra/AGCO dealer network.
