The Mega range from Valmet, dating from the 1990s and comprising the models 8000, 8100 and 8200, formed the top power segment of Finnish tractor production in Suolahti; the model numbers rank the three versions by power class. As the brand's top six-cylinder models, they stood clearly apart from Valmet's smaller three- and four-cylinder ranges and marked the upper end of the line-up at the time.

As the brand's most powerful range, the Mega handled heavy field work on large Nordic farms, such as deep ploughing and driving large implements, competing with the top six-cylinder models from Volvo BM/Valtra, Case IH and John Deere.
When buying used, condition of the six-cylinder diesel including turbocharger and cooling, the gearbox and hydraulics under full load, and the lift and PTO all matter; spare parts are available through today's Valtra network and independent farm-machinery dealers. The electrical system on these older six-cylinder models is also worth a close look.
