Valcke Other models

The register lists 19 versions here with unladen weights from 360 to 2,220 kg and gross weights from 1,100 to 3,500 kg. Lengths range from 5,990 to 7,650 mm, widths from 2,030 to 2,520 mm.

As light multi-purpose trailers, the Valcke models sit in the class up to 3.5 tonnes gross weight, the bracket towable on an ordinary car licence. They serve for transporting boats, vehicles and general cargo in both commercial and private use, competing for the same customers as more specialised series.

When buying used, check the coupling eye and jockey wheel, the overrun brake and its linkage, axle bearings and leaf springs, and corrosion on the frame and side panels. Lighting, tyres and, on the longer versions, frame torsional stiffness also belong on the checklist; axle parts are generally available through independent trailer suppliers. A second check of the wheel bearings after any long-distance tow is advisable given the trailer's light overall construction.
