This page brings together the Toko tractors that the register could not assign to a named series – the 524GP, 728H, 820H, GF18 and Ge-18 types. These are compact and small tractors fitted with engines from the Japanese manufacturers Yanmar and Shibaura.

The register lists 5 versions here with 13 to 39 kW, or 18 to 52 hp, from Yanmar and Shibaura engines; petrol is recorded as the fuel.

Compact tractors in this power class with Yanmar or Shibaura engines are used mainly in horticulture, on smaller farms and in municipal work, where manoeuvrability and low weight matter more than draught power. Both engine makers supplied numerous compact tractor brands worldwide for decades, so identical or closely related units also appear under other brand names. As compact tractors with Yanmar or Shibaura engines were distributed through importers in numerous countries, the Toko brand is known to varying degrees regionally, while the underlying technology remained largely identical.

For a used Toko, the condition and compression of the Yanmar or Shibaura engine, the tightness of the fuel system and carburettor, the condition of the clutch and gearbox, and wear on the axles, steering and tyres are the key checks. As Yanmar and Shibaura engines were fitted in many compact tractors, wear parts are usually easy to source through the independent trade for Japanese compact tractors. Equally important are the condition of the electrics and lighting and corrosion on the bodywork and chassis, as compact tractors of this type were often kept outdoors.
