The 9200 series sits above the 9100s at the top of the Case-Steyr large tractors from St. Valentin. The 9200a, 9220a, 9250a and 9270a types carry, like the smaller 9100s, the a for four-wheel drive, with the number behind it rising markedly with power; all four models use the same large-displacement six-cylinder engine of around 8.27 litres, its power stages reached through injection and turbocharging. Case and Steyr worked closely together in the 1990s before both brands later merged into the CNH group.

The register lists four versions here with 139.8 to 192.1 kW from six-cylinder diesel engines with 8,268 to 8,269 cm³ displacement. Rated speed is 2,200 rpm, unladen weight ranges from 7,901 to 8,318 kg with lengths from 5,049 to 5,090 mm, widths from 2,845 to 3,048 mm and heights from 3,017 to 3,077 mm; torque lies between 790 and 1,145 Nm. The engines are approved for diesel or rapeseed oil methyl ester.
With over 190 kW at the top, the 9200 series targeted large arable farms and contractors with heavy tillage equipment and large trailers, a segment in which it competed with the top models from Case IH, Fendt and New Holland.
When buying used, check the condition of the turbocharger and charge-air cooler, tightness of the hydraulic system given the high lift capacities of this class, wear on the clutch and powershift transmission, and on RME operation the condition of the injection system and fuel filters. Parts run through the CNH network for Steyr and Case IH.
