The 9190 a is powered by a six-cylinder diesel engine of 7,365 cm³ displacement, delivering 139.8 kW (190 hp) and 790 Nm of torque at 2,200 rpm. At an unladen weight of 6,300 kg, a wheelbase of 2,925 mm and a top speed of 40 km/h, the tractor combines strong pulling power with brisk road transport, at a ratio of roughly 45 kg of weight per kW.
Approval for diesel or rapeseed methyl ester reflects the shift toward alternative fuels in 1990s farm machinery, giving farmers more independence from outside fuel supply. High torque at a moderate rated speed, as seen here, is typical of tractors pulling heavy cultivation equipment on the three-point linkage to ISO 730 without needing to run constantly at high revs, and it keeps fuel consumption reasonable during long hours of drawbar work in the field.
On a used 9190 a, it is worth checking the injection system, especially if the machine ran on rapeseed methyl ester for extended periods, since that fuel places different demands on seals and filters than plain diesel. The gearbox and four-wheel-drive hubs should also be checked for play and noise.
