With gross weights around 39 to 40 tonnes, the DSTK range is among the heavy tipping trailers used in earthworks, road building and carrying bulk goods such as gravel, sand or spoil behind truck chassis. As an Austrian manufacturer, Schwingenschlögel supplies this range mainly to construction and haulage firms in Austria and the neighbouring Alpine countries.

On a used tipping trailer, the condition of the tipping body should be checked for wear, cracks and corrosion, along with the hydraulic cylinders and lines, the tailgate and its locking, plus frame, axles and braking system; the load floor is worth checking for rust-through at the welds. Spare parts for the hydraulics come from the usual commercial-vehicle suppliers.
