Schwing, based in Herne in the Ruhr region, is a long-established manufacturer of concrete pumps and has built truck-mounted concrete pumps for building and civil engineering work for decades. Concrete pumps of this size work on large construction sites where concrete has to be delivered over long distances and to great heights; Schwing competes here mainly with Putzmeister and Cifa for market share across Europe and beyond. The considerable length and high gross weight result from the extended placing boom and the outriggers needed to support it.
When buying used, the pump's operating hours, the condition of the boom, pipework and wear plates, and the tightness of the hydraulic system matter most; on the chassis, brakes, axles and the history of the outrigger cylinders are the key points. Parts for pump and boom are supplied by Schwing itself, while the chassis is serviced through the regular truck dealer network.
