Schwing, based in Herne, has built concrete pumps for decades; the trailers on this page add vehicles outside the named ranges to the register. The BPA 550 HDD-18 belongs to the brand's line of trailer-mounted concrete pumps, in which the pumping technology with placing boom is mounted on its own chassis and towed to site by a tow vehicle; for the TLAZ/9.9 the designation alone gives no reliable assignment.

The register lists here 3 versions with unladen weights from 2,070 to 5,860 kg, gross weights from 2,100 to 9,900 kg, lengths from 4,460 to 9,350 mm and widths from 1,850 to 2,500 mm.

Trailer-mounted concrete pumps work on sites that do not need their own mixer truck with pump, for instance for smaller foundations, refurbishments or tight access roads, and are typically moved between several work sites within a day. Since the chassis itself has no drive of its own, a separate tow vehicle handles both the transport and the power supply for the pump during operation.

On a used example, for the pumping technology the condition of the delivery cylinders, S-tube and cuffs and the tightness of the hydraulics count, along with concrete residue and corrosion on frame and chassis; for the running gear, axles and wheel bearings, the function of the brake with its linkage, and the state of tyres, lighting and plug. Parts for the pumping technology come through the manufacturer, chassis wear parts also through independent trailer workshops.
