The Solar range in the register comprises the Solar 50, Solar 50 DT, Solar 60 and Solar 60 DT; the DT suffix stands for Doppia Trazione, four-wheel drive, which SAME offers in this compact class as an option alongside the base rear-wheel-drive version. The range was built at the parent plant in Treviglio near Bergamo, home of the brand founded in 1942 by Francesco Cassani and today part of the SAME Deutz-Fahr group.

Unladen weights run, depending on version, from 2,080 to 2,625 kg, lift capacities from 2,370 to 2,970 kg, lengths from 3,380 to 3,400 mm and heights from 2,280 to 2,330 mm.
At 50 to 60 hp with optional four-wheel drive, the Solar covers the compact class for smaller farms, fruit growing, viticulture and municipal tasks, a segment where SAME traditionally holds a strong position.
On a used Solar, operating hours and the condition of the three-cylinder diesel, the function of clutch and shuttle, on the DT versions the state of the front-axle drive, tightness of the hydraulics, and corrosion on mudguards and steps matter; parts run through the SAME Deutz-Fahr group network.
