The Agrotron TTV 400 range belongs to Deutz-Fahr's Agrotron family, built at the Lauingen an der Donau plant. TTV denotes the stepless transmission that, in this range, takes over power transfer in place of a conventional gearbox and allows travel speed to be set independently of engine speed. The TTV 420 and TTV 430 form the two power steps listed here within the TTV 400 line.

The register lists 2 variants with 91 to 98.5 kW of power from four-cylinder engines of 4,038 cc displacement at a rated speed of 2,100 rpm and torque of 566 to 611 Nm. Unladen weight is 5,340 kg, with dimensions of 4,280 mm in length, 2,550 mm in width and 2,936 mm in height. Both variants are approved for diesel and B100 operation.

With its stepless transmission, the TTV 400 range positioned itself in the comfortable mid-class tractor segment, competing directly with Fendt Vario, John Deere AutoPowr and Case IH CVX. The high torque at moderate engine speed makes the range particularly strong in pulling power for tillage and front-loader work.

When buying used, check the oil level and change intervals of the stepless transmission, as its upkeep is costlier than a conventional gearbox. The hydraulic pump should be tested for adequate delivery pressure, and the transmission control electronics checked for fault codes. Cab mounts and the cooling system are also worth checking given the high engine output; parts supply runs reliably through the Deutz-Fahr network.
