In 2001 the Agrotron series received a facelift to the MK3 generation, still strongly resembling the original 1996 shape on the outside but carrying reworked technology into the new decade, before the fundamentally new TTV generation with stepless transmission followed in 2002.

The register lists 14 live models, from the Agrotron 100 MK3 to the Agrotron 230, built between 2000 and around 2004. Output ranges from 60.4 to 191.4 kW, or 88 to 230 hp, weight from 4,040 to 9,300 kg, displacement from 3,192 to 7,146 cm3, across four- and six-cylinder engines.

With the explicit "MK3" suffix on some models, Deutz-Fahr this time made it easier to distinguish from previous generations on the used market.

As the last Agrotron generation before the TTV era with stepless transmission, the MK3 marks the close of the classic, mechanically shifted Agrotron series.

When buying a used MK3 Agrotron, clutch and gearbox condition, the tightness of the lift hydraulics, and on the six-cylinder models the injection system and turbocharger all matter; rust on cab and mudguards after decades of use is common too. Parts for this last mechanically shifted generation run through the SAME Deutz-Fahr group, which also supports the succeeding TTV technology in parallel. PTO and lift correspond, depending on the model, to ISO 730 Category II to III, at 540 or 1,000 rpm.
