Alongside the 2002 TTV launch, Deutz-Fahr continued a series marketed as "Agrotron IV" with a classic powershift gearbox in the upper power segment, for customers who preferred to forgo stepless technology.

The register lists 11 live models, from the Agrotron 110 to the Agrotron 265, built between 2003 and 2007. Output ranges from 73.6 to 184 kW, or 100 to 250 hp, weight from 4,710 to 9,050 kg, displacement from 6,057 to 7,146 cm3, with six-cylinder engines throughout.

With six-cylinder engines exclusively and a peak output of 250 hp in the Agrotron 265, this generation positioned itself clearly in the big-tractor segment for operations covering large areas.

The Agrotron IV thus rounded out the SDF line-up with a more conventional, mechanically simpler alternative alongside the new TTV technology.

When buying a used Agrotron IV, clutch and powershift-stage condition, the tightness of the lift hydraulics, and the six-cylinder's injection system and turbocharger all matter; rust on cab and mudguards after years on a large operation is common too. Parts run through the SAME Deutz-Fahr group, which continues to support the more mechanical Agrotron IV generation alongside TTV technology. PTO and lift correspond in this power class to ISO 730 Category III, at 540 or 1,000 rpm. The close technical kinship with the contemporary TTV generation also eases sourcing of shared engine and hydraulic parts.
