The water-cooled four-cylinder engine displaces 4,000 cm³ and delivers 70 kW at 2,200 rpm, equivalent to 95 horsepower, with 373 Nm of torque. The engine is approved for both conventional diesel and pure biodiesel to the B100 standard. With a weight of 3,410 kg, a wheelbase of 2,230 mm and a top speed of 40 km/h, the Agroplus 420 was versatile in use.
Approval for B100 biodiesel let farmers choose between running on fossil diesel or pure biodiesel made from vegetable oils, which was of particular interest to holdings with their own oilseed production. Torque of 373 Nm at this displacement provides strong pulling reserves for tillage and transport work.
When buying a used Agroplus 420, it is worth establishing which fuel the tractor was mainly run on, since biodiesel operation places more strain on certain seals and fuel lines than conventional diesel. The injection system also deserves a check, as biodiesel can lead to deposits in the lines during longer periods of standing. It is also worth reviewing the service history for entries relating to the particulate filter, if one was fitted to this version of the engine.
